About us

The Tanzania Women Cross-Party Platform (T-WCP/ULINGO) is a registered NGO since 2010. T-WCP provides a forum for women from different political affiliations to address pertinent issues and challenges that confront women participation in the political processes within political parties as well as in decision-making bodies and democratic processes.

T-WCP/ULINGO, is aCivil Society movement composed of representatives from women political wings of all the fully registered political parties in Tanzania with the primary objective of enhancing women’s capacity, visibility, and broaden their participation in politics and democratic processes. T-WCP provides a forum for women from different political affiliations to address pertinent issues and challenges that confront women in the political processes within political parties as well as in decision-making bodies.

These include inadequate capacity especially among women leaders; absence of programs or strategies within political parties that aim at expanding opportunities for women engagement in democratic elections, both as voters and leaders; and the overarching problem of the patriarchal system that perpetuates male dominance in socio-economic and political processes. Patriarchy contributes to systematic exclusion of women and their marginalization in every sphere despite their constitutional right to vote and contest for political leadership positions.
